Situationships
Peaceful relationships reflect the goodness of God. Our relationships should not add consistent chaos and confusion to our lives. The best way to prevent chaos and confusion in relationships is to set boundaries and expectations:
๐น Selfishness is [most commonly] the underlying motive for a lack of commitment. Selfish people make their way into our lives when we lack expectations and boundaries.
๐น Setting a standard will prevent situationships. This is accomplished by assessing the other personโs response to your expectations, which will determine if they are in a selfish state of mind (or otherwise do not desire commitment).
๐น Commitment is an important part of any healthy relationship. Whether it is a healthy relationship between a manager and employee, parent and child, or two romantic partners, there is always a certain level of commitment.
๐น Always remember, you have the power to determine who you allow your life and what you tolerate from other people. Expectations will prevent situationships from occurring in the first place.
